Draw #92: The largest Express Entry draw of 2018

The Government of Canada issued 3,750 invitations today to apply for Canadian Permanent Residence to candidates with CRS score of 451 or above.

It is not surprising to see the draw size increase as this is the largest draw for this year. The number of ITAs issued in each draw has gradually increased, an outcome of higher immigration targets for 2018. The good news is the admissions targets for 2019 and 2020 are also set to increase.

The last all-program invitation was issued 3 weeks ago – May 23 – longer than the usual time of two weeks in 2018, this gap of invitation contributed to increase in the minimum CRS score in today’s draw. Larger draw sizes can have the effect of lowering the minimum CRS score, although the time between draws is also an important factor to considerate.

That is the why “the earlier you submit your profile to the Express Entry pool, the better is your chances of receiving an invitation”, said Ashish Chadha, licensed Immigration Consultant Member of ICCRC since 2011.
